Good service but super expensive… cost twice as much as we expected

I needed to make a full household contents move from Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia to Southern Ontario. At 70 years old, alone, and never having used professional movers before, I was nervous to say the least. There are a lot of horror stories out there about furniture being held hostage, inflated prices, damage, etc. I am thrilled to say that the entire process could not have been easier and everything was smooth sailing. And the best part was that I paid exactly what I was quoted , which was significantly less than everybody else I researched.Jeff was my Atlantic contact from start to finish. Always replying to emails and phone calls promptly, even on a Sunday (more than once). The company sent me an excel program to complete, cataloguing all of my furniture and miscellaneous household items, to estimate weight and cubic feet required. It was extremely user friendly. I was contacted a day in advance by Jacob to confirm when the moving crew would arrive and they were on time almost on the dot at 10:00 am on the scheduled date. Jacob, Victor and Bogdan handled everything carefully and respectfully, most especially all of my boxes marked “fragile” which contained my precious pottery, glassware, artwork, photos and crystal. My couches, upholstered lift chair, mattress, TVs, and kitchen table were all wrapped with moving blankets and plastic wrap and came through at the other end just great. On arrival in Ontario, after having driven my car up after the pickup on a Wednesday, my furniture arrived at my new house 5 days later on the Sunday of the same weekend. Chris had called the afternoon before to advise of arrival on the following day. Louis was the driver, Chris and Jacob the labor. Chris and Jacob were awesome putting every box, item or piece of furniture exactly where requested. They reassembled my kitchen table, and a couple of other pieces of furniture that had to be taken apart at pickup time. My two heavy LazyBoy couches are oversize and I forgot to measure doorways for re-entry so they were a bit of a challenge for the guys. But they managed it like the pros they are and everything is inside exactly where it is supposed to be. The end result, my thanks to all involved and more than happy to recommend this great company. Couldn’t have done it without you troops !!! 😊 😊

I can not say enough good remarks about Smart Movers. I have had them numerous times over the years and they are always the best. They are polite, and professional and they never scratch anything. I have no idea how they move some of the things they do. They moved a huge old deepfreeze out of my basement and never put one scratch on a wall. I have no idea what I would do if they ever left.. Just today they moved a chair into my living room and a massage chair into my basement. They were two fine gentleman and they were awesome. They are neat , efficient and I trust them completely. Extremely pleased with my full-service move from Nova Scotia to Ontario; including my vehicle shipment. Very well organized with impressive time management. Movers were on time, very polite, kept me updated while my belongings were in transit. The movers brought all the necessary packing items, including boxes. Every item was packed carefully. All the furniture wrapped and protected. Upon delivery, all the furniture and boxes were placed in designated rooms. The movers took care of absolutely everyting. Excellent communication from start to finish. Outstanding customer service! Highly recommended!

We had the most amazing packers/loaders from the team leader to the twin Ninja packers..just a fantastic experience for a long distance move and delivered with no damage, not a dent or a scratch and the cost was very reasonable. Highly recommend to anyone making a move!

I called Jeff to inquire about moving a stacked washer dryer into an upstairs apartment for me, not only were they able to do it the next morning they also picked it up at the store where i bought it .Chris did an great job moving the 275lb appliance upstairs and also removed the old appliance for me along with the packaging. Amazing service and would highly recommend.. Thanks for making this imposable job easy and stress free.
